Life is all about balance.
Sometimes you need to balance being healthy and indulging. Other times it's all about balancing spirituality with worldly joys.
And sometimes you just need to figure out how to balance that open bottle of beer you're drinking while you do your sun salutations.
Life is full of challenges, man.
If you're familiar with these struggles, consider a beautiful, beautiful new thing trending around the world called, you guessed it, BeerYoga, or "BierYoga" as they call it in German.
It's pretty much exactly what it sounds like.
"BeerYoga is the marriage of two great loves -- beer and yoga," says the BierYoga website. "Both are centuries-old therapies for body, mind and soul. The joy of drinking beer and the mindfulness of yoga [complement] each other, and make for an energizing experience."
Here's how it works: For a mere $5-$7, you get two beers and one hour of yoga class that adapts traditional poses to incorporate drinking out of your bottle, according to BuzzFeed.
"BeerYoga is fun but it's no joke -- we take the philosophies of yoga and pair it with the pleasure of beer-drinking to reach your highest level of consciousness," the creators, Emily and Jhula, who are both certified yoga instructors and "passionate beer drinkers," wrote on their website. "Both are important things in our lives. Why not combine them?"
BeerYoga is based in Germany but is touring around the world and currently offering classes in Australia. We don't see any offerings in the U.S., as of now, but keep your fingers crossed and maybe, just maybe, they'll come over yonder one of these days.
If all else fails, check out your favorite bars and local breweries -- a lot of them offer yoga classes -- which is probably as close as you'll get to having them both at the same time without getting kicked out of the gym.
