It comes every year: Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day! Ben & Jerry's fans can get excited that this year's free cone day is just around the corner.
Foodbeast reports that Free Cone Day will take place on April 4 between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. Get ready! April 4 is Ben & Jerry's anniversary, so it's only fitting that they're choosing that day to return some of the love we like showing them. The tradition reportedly began in 1979 after Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield completed one whole year of serving up frozen goodness in Burlington, Vermont.
More than a million scoops are expected to be given away during this time, and you can choose a scoop of any available flavor at your local Scoop Shop. The best part is that this deal is available worldwide, so you can celebrate your love for the great Ben and Jerry even outside of the U.S.
In a press release, B&J CEO Jostein Solheim said, “We believe in having fun, and in thanking our fans with free ice cream for our anniversary every year. Through the power of ice cream, we are able to form strong connections and create positive social change together. Free Cone Day is one way to show our fans how much we appreciate them.”
That is most definitely a great way to show us we're appreciated. The only question now is, which flavor will you choose? Will it be the classic Cherry Garcia, or will you kick it up a notch with something new? Maybe you'd like to use this opportunity to try out a flavor that you've been eyeing, but unsure of trying? What about some of that brand new Urban Bourbon? Go wild, it's free!
The best part of this news is that some of the Scoop Shops will be teaming up with non-profit organizations in their local areas to spread their messages and help gather donations. Just when you thought April 4 couldn't get any sweeter!
Do yourself a favor and stop by your nearest Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop on April 4 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Snag a free cone and maybe even throw in a donation for a good cause. Happy anniversary, Ben & Jerry!
