Ben & Jerry's has finally recognized that we fans love their ice cream flavors so much, it's hard to choose just one at a time. As a result, they've helped us out by offering us "Pint Slices."
Delish reports that the reason for the name Pint Slices is because it looks like they took a knife and just cut across the top of a pint, then wrapped it individually for us. In the video below, you'll see that B&J decided to do this for four popular flavor favorites. You'll be able to find Pint Slices in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Vanilla Peanut Butter Cup, Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Americone Dream.
According to Popsugar, each of the Pint Slices flavors are coated in a layer of dark chocolate, with the Americone Dream flavor having bits of waffle cone pieces included in the shell also.
Ben & Jerry's has been on top of its game already this year and it's barely 2017! We've now got three new flavors, including the Urban Bourbon, which is made with burnt caramel ice cream with almonds, fudge flakes and bourbon caramel swirls. The other two flavors are Oat of this Swirled (reminiscent of grandma's oatmeal cookies) and Truffle Kerfuffle, which features vanilla ice cream with roasted pecans, fudge flakes and a salted chocolate ganache swirl.
I can only imagine it gets better from here! New flavors, new frozen, chocolate-covered Pint Slices … what's next? I can only imagine that if these four flavors do well, we'll start seeing some of the other flavors (like Cherry Garcia!) come out in slices.
When asked why they chose to create slices instead of popsicle-type bars with sticks, Ben & Jerry's said they wanted to get as much of the ice cream and flavor into one "Slice" as possible, and that a stick just takes up space. Good thinking!
Currently, you can find the new Slices in Ben & Jerry stores, but they'll be available soon in grocery stores as well, selling in packs of three for $4.99. You may even be able to find the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavor sold individually in some areas, for $2.99.
