We have some delightful news for Ben & Jerry's fans and beer drinkers alike: The well-known ice cream company has teamed up with New Belgium brewery to create what we are hoping is the most decadent beer ever.
The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ale is expected to debut in the fall on bar taps and in bottles nationwide, notes Popsugar.
This is not the first beer-ice cream collaboration between Ben & Jerry's and New Belgium. The companies have worked together in the past on a salted caramel brownie brown ale that came out in 2015 as well as a corresponding ice cream version of the beer, which were created to be consumed together.
As they have in the past, Ben and Jerry are using this opportunity for some good ol' philanthropy and plan to donate $50,000 of the beer's profits to Protect Our Winters (POW), a non-profit organization that works to spread awareness regarding issues of climate change.
"We are excited to be partnering once again with the good folks at Ben & Jerry's and POW," New Belgium Director of Sustainability, Jenn Vervier, said in a press release. "The beer in development tastes amazing and we look forward to talking about climate change and climate action. With the upcoming election and a new administration, year two is even more important than the first round."
The ice cream company was equally jazzed about the collaboration and hinted that beer drinkers were in for a real treat.
"Working with New Belgium Brewing and Protect our Winters to be able to impact climate was a highlight of 2015, and so, we're doing it again," said Jay Curley, Senior Global Marketing Manager of Ben & Jerry's. "This new beer is delicious and unique and the issue of climate change is still increasingly urgent."
We are so looking forward to tasting this beer. Fall can't come quickly enough.
