If you love chocolate so much, then why don't you… bathe in it?
We all have our culinary vices. While some of us go for salty snacks to satisfy a craving, others will opt for a tart option, or even tuck into a savory meal. However, if you're anything like me (and, apparently, the average citizen of the United Kingdom), when a craving hits, it's usually for chocolate.
According to statistics compiled by Euromonitor and published by Statista in 2015, the United Kingdom is tied with Ireland for having the third highest rate of chocolate consumption per person than any other country. In fact, the average U.K. citizen reportedly consumed about 16.3 lbs of chocolate per year in 2015.
With those kinds of numbers, perhaps it’s no surprise that a lucky few U.K. citizens are being offered the chance to indulge in chocolate on a whole new level.
This May 5, beloved British confectionery company Cadbury is opening a pop-up chocolate spa on Bateman Street in London's Soho district, in order to celebrate the launch of its new Dairy Milk Medley product.
"The Lounge is the ultimate pampering experience for Cadbury lovers as it communicates the joyful and luxurious experience that comes from tasting the delicious soft [center] and quality ingredients of Cadbury Dairy Milk Medley," Cadbury told Metro.
According to YPlan, attendees will be offered a variety of treatments that are meant to replicate the experience of eating one of the new, decadent bars.
“With a choice of a head massage, hand massage, or luxury manicure, you’ll feel more pampered than a panda in a petting-zoo,” reads YPlan's event description.
The 18+ lounge will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 5 only, and while the spa will be free to enter, those interested in attending the event are required to register for a ticket on a first-come-first-served basis through YPlan.
This is not the first time Cadbury has launched a pop-up to support one of their products. The Cadbury Dairy Milk Medley Lounge comes to London on the heels of their successful seven-week Creme Egg Cafe pop-up earlier this year, as documented by Event Magazine.
But don't worry, latecomers and out-of-towners. If you’re unable to snag a ticket to the event, there’s no need to fret. The Cadbury Dairy Milk Medley bars have reportedly already hit the market, and are available in stores now.
