Now, chocolate cheese isn't necessarily new to me. I love cheese fudge from Wisconsin, rich and delicious all on its own. However, this mix between blue cheese and chocolate? That's a little different.

According to Metro News, an Italian blue cheese is now available in both Italy and Australia. Melbourne-based cheese deli, Curds and Whey, began ordering this cheese from Italy to sell it in their own shop.

The cheese is called Choco 21, and is made by taking a “mild and delicate” blue cheese, as Cosmopolitan reports, and ripening it with chocolate liqueur then topping it with cocoa powder and chocolate chips. "The blue itself is quite mild, and the liqueur adds the chocolate flavor without being sweet," Curds and Whey's owner, Anna Burley, said.

I find this all very interesting, and although there are many mixed opinions out there about whether this is a good or bad idea, I’d love nothing more than a chance to try it. I just can’t imagine that a chocolate and cheese combination can be bad. I know it’s not available yet in the U.S., but when it is, I’ll be first in line. Especially since I’m sure there’s some sort of wine that must go perfectly with it.

Just look at this masterpiece …

Even if it’s not your thing, you can’t deny it’s truly a work of art. I think anyone who loves rich and exotic flavors would be excited to get to try this fabulous cheese.

As for reviews? Pretty positive! Curds and Whey sold out of Choco 21 within a week of carrying it. If that doesn’t convince you that it’s a must-try, I don’t know what will. Certainly, there’s the minor likelihood that most people bought it just because they were curious. Even if that’s why, they must have been pleasantly surprised, seeing as how we’re not hearing much in the way of negative reviews.

My feeling is that it’s just something we shouldn’t have been living without!
