Coca-Cola Is Dipping Into The Hard Seltzer Game with Topo Chico Hard Seltzer

Ingredients

There are very few alcohol mixers that are more well-known or more popular than Coca-Cola (I don’t know about you, but I don’t usually order a Rum and Pepsi). In spite of its association with alcoholic drinks, The Coca-Cola Company doesn’t actually sell any alcoholic beverages itself. Until now, that is. And no, it’s not a prepackaged Rum and Coke (although, can we make that happen?). But it is possibly the next best thing.

Coca-Cola declared in a brief announcement that later this year they’ll be selling Topo Chico Hard Seltzer, starting in a select few cities in Latin America. For those who don’t know, Topo Chico is a brand of seltzer (the regular, non-alcoholic kind) that has been produced in Mexico for over a hundred years. Coca-Cola acquired the company a few years ago and it’s quickly become a favorite across the U.S.

There aren’t too many details out yet about the new Topo Chico Hard Seltzer, but it looks like it will originally be offered in a lemon-lime flavor (yum!), and it’s rumored that it will be hitting shelves in the U.S. by 2021. In the meantime, Topo Chico is a great drink to try on its own, or as a mixer that rivals Coke itself.
