There's a rumored new pair of Starbucks limited edition Frappuccinos, and they look wild!
If you've been paying any attention to Starbucks lately, you might have noticed that the coffee chain has been rotating new Frappuccinos about as fast as my blood sugar spikes when I sip on one. From the controversial Unicorn Frappuccino to the just-as-bright but maybe less sour Dragon one to the more demure and sensible Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino, nobody can really blame you if you checked out a while ago after the first neon drink rotation.
But now, there's something totally new, and it actually looks deliciously summery. The Prickly Pear Frappuccino and the Pineapple Mango Frappuccino are said to launch somewhere around June 20, although you should be aware that it's still hearsay at this point.
That's right, it hasn't been officially confirmed yet by the green mermaid herself, but this looks pretty legit, right?
Here's the scoop: Both of these ice blended drinks are probably going to be part of 'Bux's "Colors of Summer" offerings and will include a mango creme frappuccino base topped with a puree of either of the two flavors -- pineapple mango or prickly pear -- which come swirled at the top and bottom of each drink, notes Foodbeast.
Some people -- Starbucks employees, I assume -- who have already tasted them said on a Reddit thread that they taste great, but they're even better if you ask your barista to blend in some of the fruit puree.
They don't usually come with whipped cream, so if you want it, you'll have to ask.
A whopping one person compared the two and said the prickly pear drink was the best one, but I think I'm going to have to try them both and decide for myself ...
