Ingredients

You read that right. Sunbeam Products has issued a nationwide recall on their Crock-Pot 6-Quart Express Crock Multi-Cookers after users have reported burns while using the product in “pressure cooker” mode. There were almost a total of 1 million units! [embed]https://twitter.com/taylordwillis/status/1331391868005978120[/embed] The US Consumer Products Safety Commission said that the issue was the cooker can pressurize when the lid is not fully locked, which results in burns from the hot food/liquids. So far, Sunbeam Products have received 119 reports of lid detachment and a total of 99 burn injuries - all ranging from first-degree to third-degree burns. Yikes! Here’s the information on the recall - it specifically involves those Crock-Pots with the model number SCCPPC600-V1 (if you have one, you can find the model number of the product on the bottom of the unit). These cookers is make between July 1st, 2017, and October 1st, 2018 with date codes K196JN through K365JN and L001JN through L273JN. They could have purchased at Walmart, Target, and Amazon for around $70-100.   So take a close look at yours! If you have one of the recalled Crock-Pots, you should stop using it immediately (at least in the pressure cooker mode). You may continue to use it safely for slow cooking and sautéing, according to the alert. However, those with the affected units can contact Crock-Pot to get a free replacement lid.   The number to call is 800-323-9519 from the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or you can go to recall.crockpot.com and get more information.
