Reese's is preparing to release a new product and leaving hints throughout social media for its excited customers.
Although no official details have been released, it looks like The Hershey Company is planning to debut a new Reese's product that combines two of their most beloved offerings. Using the social media tag #Cupfusion, the company released a series of social media posts to hint at a possible Reese's Peanut Butter Cup filled with Reese's Pieces treat.
Rumors first started with a Facebook post by Marlena Courchain, who posted a picture of the rumored Reese’s fusion on April 28. She said the candy will debut in July, according to what she’s heard.
On May 5 and 10, Reese's released some social media posts as well. Their most loyal fans went wild.
When Eater requested comment on the social media posts, Hershey did not offer much information but did hint that this tasty fusion may soon become a reality.
"Guess you've heard about the #Cupfusion," a Hershey spokesman wrote in an email. "Would Reese's make consumer dreams come true and bring together two beloved favorites — Cups and Pieces — into one mind-blowing delicious cup of goodness? You'll just have to keep watching as it unfolds!"
Delish received a similar response from the company.
"Would Reese's make consumer dreams come true and bring together two beloved favorites into one mind-blowing delicious cup of goodness?" wrote a brand representative. "Now you're #cupfused."
I must admit, this is a clever strategy to get people excited about this launch. Hopefully the rumors are true, and we'll be able to enjoy this nostalgic fusion over the summer!
