In an unlikely win for the cult animated show, "Rick and Morty," McDonald's announced that it's bringing back the famous, much-discussed Szechuan Sauce for just one day only on Oct. 7.

McDonald's announced Oct. 1 via Twitter the sudden one-day appearance of Szechuan Sauce, which will feature colorful packaging and a matching poster too (available only at participating stores and in very limited quantities).

Fans of "Rick and Morty" were abuzz after the show aired its Season 3 premiere, where McDonald's Mulan McNugget Sauce was referenced repeatedly, a running joke that went far and extreme with some diehard fans.

As a result of all the hype, Szechuan sauce has been sold on eBay for $15,000; acclaimed EDM artist, deadmau5, bought a large jug of the sauce for an undisclosed amount soon after the episode aired; and a YouTube video went viral earlier this year when "Rick and Morty" creators were filmed trying the sauce, proclaiming it tasted "okay."

Even McDonald's is in on the push-and-pull persuasion of "Rick and Morty" diehards, calling Szechuan Sauce fans, "typically incredibly motivated, born winners that combine a sweet disposition with a slow burning heat," per McD's Buttermilk Crispy Tenders campaign site.

"When these people set goals (or make outright demands), they tend to achieve them. Sometimes, their impulsivity can get them into all sorts of hijinks, but their mad genius is their portal out of trouble," said the site.

That is to say: There is a lot riding on McDonald's right now with the Szechuan Sauce one-day release. To "Rick and Morty" fans, this is a major win!

For McDonald's customers, another win! The chain is celebrating the return of Buttermilk Crispy Tenders, which were discontinued back in 2013, but will now once again return to its menus indefinitely.

October 7 marks the day of many long-awaited returns.

So here are the details: The sauce will only be available October 7 starting at 2:00 p.m. at participating McDonald's (check out the chain's campaign site for a list of locations).

They'll also be giving away 1,000 limited-edition, screen-printed posters for their lineup of sauces (including Szechuan Sauce) so arrive early!

And did we mention, this is a one-time only deal?! Act fast.
