Free Taco Bell Thanks To Maybin!

If you don't already watch Major League Baseball, it's about time that you tune in. (Hint: There's a prize if you do …)

Taco Bell's latest promotion celebrates this year's World Series with a spin on the "home run heard 'round the world": When a base is stolen during a series game, free Doritos Locos Tacos will be handed out on a specified day! ("Steal a Base, Steal a Taco")

On Oct. 25, Astros outfielder (and new taco hero) Cameron Maybin stole a base during the 11th inning of Game 2, so fire up your fire sauce and get your free tacos on Nov. 1 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Taco Bell-ers and baseball fans already know what's coming. This is Taco Bell's sixth time running its World Series promotion and each year, after every game, America got a free taco. We like to believe Maybin (and company) are colluding to spread as much of Taco Bell's wealth as possible. ("You get a taco! And you get a taco! Everybody gets a taco!")

Maybin, our latest taco purveyor, tweeted after the game, "What's better than a win in extra innings? Free @tacobell! Proud to be America's #StealABaseStealATaco guy. You ALL get free tacos on 11/1!" Taco Bell so lovingly crowned Maybin as its new "Taco Hero" on their official website, too.

There have been several taco heroes in baseball history. Last year our main man was Cleveland Indians' Francisco Lindor, who stole a base in Game 1 of the World Series championship, according to Business Insider. And in 2015, Kansas City Royals player Lorenzo Cain stole a base (and our crunch-wrapped hearts), which led to a $10 million giveaway in free A.M. Crunchwraps.

They say Christmas season brings out the best in us, but I think it's time we owe our good holiday spirit to the beloved Tex-Mex chain and America's World Series base-stealers.

When you tune in on Oct. 27 to watch the World Series Game 3 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros, you should consider thinking, you know, outside the bun.
