July 13 is National Fry Day and we are so excited! The crispy, golden starchy treats – which both the French and Belgians claim to have invented around the 17th or 18th century – are easily one of the most popular foods of all time, and they definitely deserve a day of recognition.

1. Arooga's Grille House & Sports Bar
For today only, fry baskets and skillets are buy one, get on free at this East Coast chain. So either bring a friend or make us proud and eat both orders by yourself.
2. Brother Jimmy's
Get loaded fries for half off at Brother Jimmy's restaurants in New York City all day long.
3. BurgerFi
Free hand-cut fries with the purchase of a CEO burger. Fancy!
4. Burger King
Burger King doesn't have free fries or anything, but you can get a pretty sweet deal through July 15 – buy two Whopper meals (including two small orders of fries) for only $10.
5. Chickie's and Pete's
If you're lucky enough to live in or near Pennsylvania, pick up some Crabfries for only $1 between 11 a.m. and midnight today. As part of their "Crabfries for Heroes" promotion, proceeds will go toward the families of fallen police officers, so it's really a double win here.
6. Frite Street
Chicago's best fry spot is giving out free fries between 10 am and 4 pm July 13.
7. Ground Round
This popular Northeast restaurant is giving out a free basket of fries to each table July 13.
8. IHOP
Free unlimited seasoned fries with any burger, now through July 31.
9. McDonald's
Free medium fries with any large sandwich when you download the chain's smartphone app.
10. New York Fries
