If you are somebody who likes to travel, but also likes to drink some dang good Vodka while doing it, then boy do we have the opportunity of a lifetime for you -- if you're unemployed, looking, and have a freaking amazing palate and sense of smell, that is.
Absolut is now hiring a new "Sensory Expert" now that Per Hermansson, the man who has been getting paid to explore the many ways spirits are experienced and sensed for the famous vodka brand, is finally retiring after more than four decades of work.
According to Metro, he is known as the "Billion Dollar Nose" due to his expert sense of smell, which is an absolut (haha, get it?) requirement for the person who holds the title of Sensory Expert.
Are you qualified for the position? Essentially, you'll need a great sense of smell, sharp and refined tasting skills that help the brand create new and undeniably winning drinks, the ability to run a slew of masterclasses that inform pupils about spirits and their distinctive scents and flavor profiles and, of course, the ability and desire to travel the world, keeping up with all of the latest trends in the alcohol and food worlds.
You need to be a tastemaker and a trendspotter.
A leader and an entrepreneur.
A storyteller and a star.
A doer and a team player.
"This is one of the most complex jobs in the business -- you need to be equal parts innovator, chemist, teacher, creator and ambassador," Hermansson told Metro.
"This person not only needs to have the technical skills needed for the job, but a passion for creativity to keep Absolut on the forefront [of] innovation."
That means if you secretly prefer whiskey to vodka, this probably isn't the position for you -- you have to live, breathe, and yearn for Absolut vodka.
Do you think you have what it takes?
