Ingredients

When it comes to slow cooker recipes, the possibilities are endless. There are dozens of ways to cook a chicken in a slow cooker, but sometimes the simplest recipes are the best. Great slow cooked chicken can be made easily, just with some basic ingredients you likely have in your cabinets right now.

Here’s everything you’ll need:

- 4 tsp salt

- 1 tsp cayenne pepper

- 2 tsp paprika

- 1 tsp thyme

- 1 tsp white pepper

- 1/2 tsp black pepper

- 3 Tbsp. minced garlic

- 2.5 lb chicken

- 4 cloves of garlic

- half a lemon

- quarter of an onion

- 2 medium carrots

- 3 ribs of celery

- 1 medium onion

- 1 large potato

Step-By-Step:

The first step is putting together a rub with salt, cayenne pepper, paprika, thyme, white pepper, black pepper and garlic, and covering the entire chicken with it.

Next, stuff the chicken with garlic cloves, a quarter of an onion, and half a lemon.

Now it’s time to put veggies in the slow cooker. We recommend carrots, celery, potatoes and onions, but feel free to put in whatever sounds good to you!

After that, put the chicken in the slow cooker right on top of the veggies. Cook on low for eight hours.

When time is up, take the chicken out and let it sit on a cutting board for about 10 minutes. When it’s cooled down a bit, cut it up to serve.

Now it’s time to eat!
