Ex-Vice President Joe Biden is a proud ice cream lover.

"My name is Joe Biden, and I love ice cream," he declared at Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams in Columbus, Ohio, during a talk about the American economy. "I eat more ice cream than the three other people you'd like to be with, all at once."

There are video compilations of Biden indulging in various flavors and forms of his favorite treat. There's even a Tumblr blog dedicated to Biden and his special moments with ice cream.

In fact, Biden's romance with ice cream is almost as legendary and meme-tastic as his bromance with Obama. But now, Biden is getting every ice cream lover's dream: a flavor named after him.

Biden has been chosen to deliver the Senior Convocation address at Cornell University on May 27. Perhaps more importantly, the Cornell Dairy will be honoring Biden by giving him his own ice cream flavor.

The Cornell Dairy is a dessert parlor run by the university's Department of Food Science. Isn't it high time that every university develop a Department of Food Science, especially one with an ice cream shop inside?

Molly Mandel, a senior at Cornell, came up with the idea of making a flavor for Biden, according to the Cornell Daily Sun. Last semester, Mandel interned for the Cornell Dairy Processing Plant. Upon hearing that Biden would be this year’s convocation speaker, she immediately got to work.

A manager at Cornell Dairy contacted the creamery at Biden’s alma mater, the University of Delaware, which revealed that Biden’s favorite flavor is good old chocolate chip.

After a Facebook event called “Joe Biden Eats Cornell Dairy Ice Cream” got over 3,000 people to indicate their interest, Cornell invited students to suggest flavor names for the ice cream.

A list of 150 possible names has now been narrowed down to five, which are currently being voted on by Cornell students, according to Delish. The five contenders are: Biden’s Chocolate Bites; Bits n’ Biden; Big Red, White & Biden; Not Your Average Joe’s Chocolate Chip; and Uncle Joe’s Chocolate Chip.
