If you’ve been wishing for more plant-based meat alternatives at your favorite fast-food chains, Jack in the Box hears you and has teamed up with Tyson-owned Raised & Rooted to bring you the first “unchicken” sandwich available at a quick-service restaurant. Made of pea protein isolate and featuring Jack in the Box’s classic crispy breading, its creators are confident that this will be a fantastic substitute for the classic chicken sandwich we all know and love. "We believe this is the best tasting plant-based product in the market today," said David Ervin, vice president of marketing for the Raised & Rooted brand. "We are excited to be partnering with Jack in the Box to bring the delicious taste people have come to love from our plant-based Nuggets and Tenders, to even more people with the Unchicken sandwiches."
The sandwich is available as regular or spicy, and the unchicken can also be added a la carte to your favorite Jack in the Box order. Right now, this is only available in locations in Reno, Nevada and Monteray and Salinas, California, but fingers crossed that will change and be coming to your local Jack in the Box soon!
