Is anybody else seriously pumped about the slew of cold drinks hitting all the fast food joints in preparation for spring and summer? Let's be real; spring is already upon us, but the weather hasn't necessarily been following suit, which is annoying. However, spotting the new refreshing treats and beverages on menus nationwide is giving me hope that the skies will clear soon, the sun will come out, and I can finally ditch my winter coat and enjoy, like, a slushie or something without freezing.

Luckily, McDonald's is here and has our backs, because the chain will begin testing its brand new Minute Maid Slushies starting April 10. Here's the kicker: It's only going to be testing the mcdonalds slushies for now in the Houston area. But frankly, Texas is probably a lot hotter than the Northeast (from where I'm writing this).

So I say go on ahead, Texans, and enjoy the new flavors of slushies. And if you deem them good, hopefully they'll debut over on the East Coast when the sun actually decides to shine once more. Brand Eating reports that the slushies will come in three Minute Maid fruit juice flavors: the classic Fruit Punch, which is a deep red color and looks luscious; the Cherry Limeade, which will add a nice citrus kick to an otherwise sweet overload; and Orangeade, which is sure to make your lips bright orange and sticky.

Brand Eating predicts that the drinks will probably have a long run on the menu, considering the weather is supposed to stay hot, hot, hot in Texas. So, if you don't have a chance to run out and buy one in the upcoming weeks, don't fret too much; chances are they'll be around for you to enjoy when you're ready. What do you think of the new slushie flavors? If you're not in the Houston area, do you hope these new McDonalds slush flavours make an appearance at your local McDonald's over summer, too?
