A four-year-old Connecticut boy has been banned from a local doughnut shop, and now, his mother says they’ll be taking their business elsewhere.

Rebecca Denham claims that she went in to a local Doughnut Inn with her four-year-old son Justin Otero last week when the young child asked a fellow customer if she had a baby in her belly. The woman told him she didn’t, and the boy immediately apologized. Horrified, Denham says she profusely apologized to the woman.

“My response was ‘Oh my goodness, I’m so embarrassed, I’m so sorry,’” Denham said.

The customer told her that it was “no problem” and the two were on their way. On Tuesday morning, Denham and her son came back to the Doughnut Inn, but before they could even really enter the store, a manager blocked them from coming inside.

“She said, ‘He’s not allowed in here,’ and I looked around, and said, ‘Him?’ and she said ‘Yeah, he’s rude,’” Denham recounted.

Denham now says that she will take her business somewhere else.

“Some people, unfortunately are quick to pass judgment, and therefore we will take our money and business elsewhere,” Denham stated.

The Doughnut Inn’s owner has yet to comment on the situation.
