Sweetener brand Splenda announced today their new lineup of diabetes shakes: Diabetes Care Shakes. The meal replacement shakes have no added sugar—the first and only diabetes shake of its kind, according to Splenda. Splenda specifically designed the shakes for people managing their blood sugar (those with diabetes or prediabetes) and can help reduce sugar spikes.
"For decades, people managing diabetes and prediabetes have chosen to make Splenda part of their everyday life," Beth Ruge, Director of Healthcare Professional Marketing, Nutrition Science and Professional Affairs at Splenda, said in the release.

Each shake contains 16g of protein, which is 60% more than leading diabetes shakes, according to Splenda. Plus, they have 6g of fiber and 15g of carbohydrates to help you feel full for longer. Splenda’s Diabetes Care Shakes are also soy free, gluten free, and “suitable” for those with lactose intolerance. Each shake has 170 calories. The new shakes come in three different flavors: French Vanilla, Milk Chocolate, and Strawberry Banana. In the release, Splenda calls the French Vanilla flavor “reminiscent of a perfect smooth and creamy milkshake.” They also describe the Milk Chocolate flavor as “rich and velvety.” Strawberry Banana “presents a tasty balance of both strawberry and banana,” according to the brand.
