Starbucks Debuts Two New Ombre Macchiatos (Photos)

If you're looking to step up your coffee game a little bit as the weather begins to shift, then look no further, because Starbucks has just dropped some exciting news. Beginning Feb. 28, 2017, the coffee chain is adding two new ombre macchiatos to its limited time menu in participating U.S. and Canada stores!

Yas, Starbucks, yas!

The drinks will both come available hot or iced so that no matter what the temperamental weather brings, you can be sure to enjoy your new treat.

The first drink is the Coconutmilk Mocha Macchiato.

It sounds just so warm and cozy ... we are daydreaming about enjoying it in front of a fireplace with a sweater on.

The hot version of the beverage features espresso shots poured over steamed coconut milk and then combined with just a splash of white chocolate mocha sauce. To finish, the macchiato is topped with caramel sauce in one of Starbucks' unique crosshatch patterns and a swirl of mocha sauce.

That's five layers of sweet espresso!

Next comes the Cinnamon Almondmilk Macchiato.

This beverage also features signature espresso, but is paired the creamy almond milk and sweet cinnamon dolce syrup. Then, the beverage is topped with Starbucks' crosshatch caramel pattern as well as a generous sprinkle of that addicting cinnamon dolce topping.


"The original inspiration for the beverage is from horchata, a popular beverage in Spain and Latin America," Yoke Wong from Starbucks Beverage Development team said in a press release. "It is traditionally made with almond or rice milk and spices like cinnamon, and it is served hot or cold."

To us, these two drinks sound like total home runs, and we can't wait to taste-test them ourselves in both the hot and cold varieties, depending on the weather and our mood.
