If you've got a hankering for a Starbucks treat but also are gluten-intolerant, 2017 is about to be the year your life takes a turn for the more delicious, because Starbucks has announced plans to expand its gluten-free selection next year.

On Dec. 7, the company released a five-year plan that includes a new breakfast option called Sous Vide Egg Bites. They are a "wheat-free, low calorie, high protein, convenient breakfast" and slated to premier in January of 2017. Later in the spring, a Certified Gluten-Free Breakfast Sandwich is also set to be launched.

Does that look yummy or what? The gluten-free sandwich is said to consist of Canadian bacon, cheddar, and egg on a gluten-free multigrain roll.

"Starbucks is simultaneously innovating and expanding its food menu with products customers have been looking for," the Starbucks press release explains of its new gluten-free options.

"Relevant innovation has become fundamental to unlocking the lunch daypart and building on existing breakfast daypart momentum, giving the company the ability to realize additional profitability and incremental sales. Starbucks® Breakfast Sandwich sales have more than doubled over the past four years and innovation will continue to drive meaningful growth, creating and meeting customer demand for innovation across all dayparts. Building on this strong momentum, Starbucks once again aims to double food growth over the next five years."
