Pokemon Go fans: Have you ever been trekking all over town on a hot day to try and find that elusive Snorlax and noticed yourself in need of refreshment? If this sounds like something you go through on the daily (or weekly), you'll want to listen up.
"Secret menu" Frappuccinos crafted to look like Pokeballs are popping up at various Starbucks locations all around the world. We aren't positive who first came up with the idea for the colorful drink that resembles the iconic red-and-white ball used to catch Pokemon, but Business Insider first reported the drink order surfacing in New Zealand:
It's not an official Starbucks drink, so unless your local coffee shop has an advertised special, make your barista's life easier and tell them to start with a Vanilla Frappuccino in the bottom half of your cup and then layer a Strawberries and Cream Frappuccino in the top half before topping with strawberry whipped cream. We're not sure that all Starbucks locations have the pink whipped cream, but it won't hurt to ask.
If you're interested in something a little more decadent, check out this one from Korea. It has whipped cream, mocha drizzle, and a Strawberries and Cream Frappuccino with a disembodied cake pop blended right in:
We aren't totally sure how it comes together, but it looks like somebody went ahead and ordered one, and it looks delightful:
Either of the Pokeball drinks are super gorgeous and sound like a delicious reward after accidentally walking four miles chasing rare Pokemon and hatching those eggs.
Just remember, whether you're ordering a Pokeball Frappuccino, the famous summery Pink Drink, or anything else that you don't see on the menu, it's a good idea to know what goes into the drink before you ask for it, as there's no guarantee that your barista will know what you're talking about.
"Starbucks does not have an official 'secret menu,' however our customers are always trying out new ways to customize their favorite drinks according to their personal taste preferences," a Starbucks spokesperson told The Motley Fool.
