This Guy Made A Beer Christmas Tree (Photos)

How much do you love beer?

Do you love it this much?

It's hard to imagine you love beer as much as Aussie Wes Boyd, who crafted this nearly 15-foot-high Christmas tree out of 2,536 cans of good ol' Victoria Bitter beer with a little help from his friends.

"All the other houses have only got lights," he pointed out to PerthNow.

The green behemoth is decked out in tree lights, illuminated by spotlights and crowned with an "angel" crafted in the likeness of infamous Australian outlaw Ned Kelly.

"I wanted to build it to make people happy," Boyd explained. "Me and some mates love drinking VBs and two to three mates have been bringing empty cans over here every week for the past 14 months."

But Boyd is looking to make a lot more people happy than just bystanders. In memory of his mother and grandmother, both of whom had Alzheimer's disease in their old age before dying, the father-of-four is collecting money every night to send to Alzheimer's Australia. What a guy.

He said that his neighbors were "shocked but very happy at seeing something different" when they first glimpsed the unique tree, which he said was for the most part a solitary labor of love based on a smaller creation he built the year before.

"No one helps me build it because I want to do it myself," he explained. "Building the tree makes me happy. But I did ask my mates to help me put the top on the tree."

Want to channel the Christmas spirit and your love of booze at the same time? Apparently wine bottle Christmas trees are a thing, so get started now and stack your wine bottles high:
