One of the biggest appeals of fast food is its consistency. No matter where you are, a Whopper will always be flame grilled and a Krispy Kreme original glazed donut will be just as sweet as those in your hometown.
Or so we thought.
According to Compare the Market, fast food portion sizes and calorie contents actually vary dramatically by country. For example, a Canadian original recipe KFC burger is 1.23 ounces heavier than its Australian counterpart, while an Aussie original glazed Krispy Kreme donut has 64 more calories than an identically sized Singaporean donut.
If you’re feeling a little confused, you’re in good company. Luckily, however, while we still don’t have an explanation for the variation, Compare the Market has prepared a comprehensive infographic on the subject. Check it out below, and then be sure to compare the foods firsthand on your next international vacation!
