Introducing milk's favorite... bagel?
I don't know, ya'll. Normally I'd be tempted to cry "excessive!" or begin another involved research session about the scientific appeal behind these types of viral hybrid-foods.
However, it's a Monday, and I'm tired, and the new Oreo Overload bagel looks delicious.
The bagel is offered at The Bagel Nook in Freehold, New Jersey, and according to Metro it features a vanilla-chocolate swirled bagel, stuffed not only with a cookies-and-cream-flavored cream cheese, but multiple, intact Oreos as well.
While by no means traditional, the cookies-and-cream-flavored spread probably wasn’t too far of a stretch for the masterminds behind the Overload (Alex Berkowitz, the proprietor, “found his passion in the bagel business when he was just 16 years old,” according to The Bagel Nook’s website).
Additionally, the “new funky and fun bagel store” is known for its micro-batch cream cheese flavors (like Birthday Cake, Jalapeño Cheddar and Maple Bacon) as well as its luxurious breakfast options (Crazy Chocolate Chip French Toast, anyone? Or perhaps an Inside Out Donut?).
For now, the Oreo Overload is only available at the New Jersey location, but if viral food trends have taught us anything, it's that patience is a virtue. Variations of the Oreo bagel are bound to begin popping up in various locations over the coming weeks.
