Hershey's is looking to reach into the snacking world in more ways than just candy bars. Can you blame them? Their newest endeavor includes snack foods that look oh-so-tantalizing.
Brand Eating reports that Hershey's has launched a new Cookies 'N' Creme flavor of snacks called Crunchers. There is a new Reese's flavor of the snack as well.
The Cookies 'N' Creme Crunchers are bite-sized clusters of chocolate cookies and graham wafers covered in white creme, and the Reese's variety is made up of mini peanut butter chips, rice puffs and peanuts, all covered in the 100 percent necessary milk chocolate.
The term "snackfection" was coined by Hershey's, according to Food Dive. It is meant to be the name of an innovative move to combine snack foods and confections. Basically, it makes snacking on chocolates and sweets more acceptable, which is always all right with me.
Snacks that are part of this integration will likely feature a combination of sweet and salty flavors, and crunchy and smooth textures. Crunchers aren't the first product line that Hershey's has launched under the "snackfection" brand. barkTHINS are part of the new chocolate-snack culture, and they are delish. They feature a mix of chocolate with items like coconut, pretzels and almonds.
Then there's the Hershey's Kisses Deluxe, which adds crunchy rice crisps and hazelnut centers to the regular Hershey's Kisses that we're used to seeing. Those sound much more satisfying.
This innovative idea is expected to stick with audiences, since the demand for snack foods is quickly growing, and the demand for chocolate is pretty much always high. Let's face it: Crunchy and salty just combines so well with sweet and smooth, especially when we're talking about chocolate (which, in my mind, goes well with basically everything).
So, check for the new Cookies 'N' Creme and Reese's Crunchers that are newly launched. They're sure to be a great addition to your snacking portfolio. Grab some barkTHINS and Kisses variations to fully satisfy your snackfection cravings, and keep an eye out for even more items from this line! If the snackfection movement truly sticks like we think it will, there should be plenty more to look forward to!
