If you are a fan of The Great British Baking Show, there is some good news for you. A new baking show is in the making. And what’s more, is that it has Martha Stewart spin. As confirmed to PEOPLE by The Food Network, the filming of the new reality cooking competition with Martha, called Bakeaway Camp with Martha Stewart, has just finished.
In addition to being hosted by Martha, the show is different from your standard reality baking show for numerous reasons. It will feature six amateur bakers and they’ll go on a culinary retreat with outdoor elements. So just like GBBS, you can expect a tent minus the glam. In each episode, contestants will face off in rounds in camp-inspired challenges.
The one who wins the first one will get a one-on-one mentoring session with Martha. Where? In her kitchen at home. Now that does sound super awesome. And, like most reality TV shows, the contestants who unfortunately aren’t progressing will leave. These bakers stand a chance to get more than just reality TV fame.
The last baker remaining is going to get a brand new kitchen that is going to be packed with appliances that are valued at $25,000. Food Network president Courtney White said, “Bakeaway Camp with Martha Stewart is unlike anything viewers have seen before, with Martha personally guiding and mentoring these home bakers through challenges as well as the most unpredictable outdoor elements.” In addition to Martha, other famous faces could also be seen featuring as guest judges on the show.
These include Carla Hall, Jesse Palmer and Dan Langan. While the Food Network hasn’t revealed the names of the contestants, publicity shows, standing outside in front of tents, four women and two men. Even though the air date is yet to be announced, you can be sure there is going to be one more reality baking show in your near TV viewing future.
