If you have a serious thing for 1930s Americana and vintage car nostalgia, you're going to LOVE Tank Garage Winery's newest offering -- a 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon blend that comes in what is believed to be the world's first chrome wine bottle.
Chrome Dreams was released on September 1, and it comes in a reflective bottle that has an embossed resin wing-wheeled logo, notes PR Newswire.
"We wanted to go back to a time when cars weren't just cars, but artful vessels of freedom, carrying the American dream westward across Route 66," explained James Harder, co-founder of Tank Garage Winery, according to PR Newswire.
"Classic cars were a direct reflection of our greatest hopes and dreams -- we were inspired to bring that spirit of aspiration back with Chrome Dreams. From the wine to packaging, the entire experience is designed to create a sense of marvel. We are excited for wine drinkers to taste, collect and experience this incredible achievement in wine," Harder added.
Tasting notes include "dark creme de cassis with layers of vanilla and caramel supported by hints of bay leaf and star anise in the background," said the release.
If you want one of these novelty bottles, you'll want to act fast: Tank made fewer than 500 cases of the juice, which is a mix of 87 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 8 percent Cabernet Franc and 5 percent Petite Sirah.
You can buy it at the winery in Calistoga, California, or, starting September 15, you can order it online for $75 per bottle.
Two friends who have been involved in farming and wine-making for decades collaborated to create Tank Garage Winery as a celebration of "the heart and soul of vintage California culture and creativity," according to the winery's website.
"The result is a small collection of 'one off,' uniquely-crafted wines that draw heavily on the owners' personal lifestyles and experiences," the site explains.
"Belief in the notion that ideas and influences continually surround us, tease us, and tempt us is at the heart of Tank Garage Winery."
