Woman Sits Down At KFC Table For A Week, Refuses To Stand Up

Ingredients

When you envision a heartbroken soul turning to food to ease the pain of a breakup, what do you picture them eating? Probably ice cream. I'm not sure why, but that seems to be what Hollywood decided people eat when they’re sad.

Well, Chinese woman Tan Shen, 26, munched away her pain via a very different culinary route recently. Shen sat inside of a 24-hour KFC for an entire week eating chicken wings following a breakup. She said she couldn’t go home because her apartment reminded her too much of her boyfriend.

“I hadn’t planned on staying there long, I just wanted some chicken wings,” she told Yahoo News. “But once I got in there and started eating I decided I needed time to think.”

After three days, staff at the restaurant approached her and asked what was wrong. She told them she was just thinking and proceeded to order another box of wings.

KFC staffers say they had no problem with her being there.

“She was, after all, a paying customer,” one worker said. “Even if a bit of an odd one.”

Shen left the restaurant when she finally grew sick of KFC's infamous (and underwhelming) 11-herb recipe.

“I decided the best thing to do would be to leave the city and go back to my parents,” she says. “And I was getting sick of the taste of chicken so I guess there was no point in staying there anymore.”
