Nerds, rejoice!

If you're a Trekkie, you know that booze is so integral to Star Trek that it's pretty much its own character by now. Between the illegal Romulan ale that frequently makes its way onto the Enterprise, to the Saurian brandy that always gets Scotty drunk, to all the crazy cocktails at Quark's Deep Space Nine bar, alcohol is the glue that holds the Enterprise together.

So in honor of Star Trek's 50th anniversary, you'll be able to Live Long and Prosper with your choice of two golden Star Trek-themed ales.

"In the classic episode 'The Trouble with Tribbles,' the Enterprise is called to protect a shipment of a genetically engineered four-lobe grain that is a hybrid of wheat and rye, called quadrotriticale," the official beer description reads, according to Nerdist. "Since the year 2269 is still about 250 years in the future, Quadritriticale has yet to be conceived. Thus, Shmaltz brews with triticale for Golden Anniversary Ale: The Trouble With Tribbles."

The medium-bodied Trouble With Tribbles Ale features light Carastan malt for a slight sweetness and a faint hint of toffee. The addition of Munich gives "a slight bready quality," and some wheat malt crisps the whole thing up. They fittingly added Comet, Polaris, Aurora and Admiral (Kirk) hops to keep the whole thing out of this world.

"This beer is only loosely filtered to clarity, in order to preserve the ambiguity of good and evil," the description adds.

The second brew, Voyage to the Northeast Quadrant, is crisp, clean and malty, thanks to the light Munich malts and brewer's maze used. The beer has a slight fruitiness, due to added lemon and lime, and a touch of white wine flavors. It is well-balanced with a mild bitterness.

"With 5 malts, 5 hops and 5% ABV, Voyage To The Northeast Quadrant is the perfect brew for any beer lover to toast the 50th Anniversary of such an iconic piece of popular culture," says the description.

The Trouble With Tribbles is set to debut at the July 20 Star Trek Beyond premier and at Comic-Con in San Diego from July 21-24. It will pop up again in early August at the "Star Trek Las Vegas" convention, and Voyage to the Northeast Quadrant will follow in September at select events.
