You Can Make Your Own Beer In Seconds With This New Product

Have you ever wanted to make your own beer without going through the trouble of actually brewing it?

If you're happily aboard the SodaStream train and love turning plain ol' water into instant soda, or perhaps you are just too lazy to go on a beer run when you're in the mood for a cold brew, we have some good news for you: the well-known soda company just launched a new product called the Beer Bar that turns regular sparking water into a crisp blonde beer.

The debut beer, called Blondie, is hoppy and light, with a "smooth authentic taste" and 4.5 percent alcohol by volume, according to SodaStream's press release.

"We are excited to launch a brand dedicated to serving the global growing trend of home crafted beer," said Daniel Birnbaum, SodaStream's Chief Executive Officer. "Our core carbonation technology and distribution infrastructure provide a great platform for us to extend our business into this emerging category, and we choose to do so with a dedicated beer brand."

Here's how it works: the Beer Bar adds a concentrated barley malt-hops syrup to sparkling water, and just like that, you can get into home brewing without the guesswork and wait times.

We can't confirm whether or not the beer actually tastes good, but we do know that you can get one liter of the beer concentrate – which makes three liters of beer – for a little over three dollars, making it way cheaper than almost every six pack out there.

Unfortunately, this product will only be available in some parts of Europe, but if it's successful, we might see it coming our way as early as late 2016 or 2017. For now, we'll just have to stick with the regular old SodaStream machine, which, by the way, you can use to recarbonate flat beer with two pumps if you are reeeeally careful.
