Hershey's has come out with a new seasonal treat, and it's not what you'd expect. These Hershey's Kisses are made to taste like carrot cake!
Foodbeast reports that the candies are available at stores nationwide, and taste just like the cake's frosting. They're even orange!
Hershey's spokesperson, Lauren Aardewijn, told BuzzFeed that these Carrot Cake Kisses “honestly taste just like carrot cake," and that they are "smooth with a light cream cheese-like filling in the center." As delicious as that might sound to some of us, I worry that there aren't enough carrot cake fans for this new item to truly be appreciated. Many are taking to social media to express mixed reviews.
Some find it to be a bad idea …
Because those 8 people who like carrot cake all work for Hershey's? https://t.co/ns2Ldzzdve

Some don't know what to think …

I don't know how I feel about that.

While others are stoked!
Is "carrot cake" the "pumpkin spice" of spring? I hope so! @Hersheys now has carrot cake flavored Kisses! I need these in my life!

However you feel about it, you should know that Hershey's won't be upset. “Whenever you develop a new product you’re going to have people who love it and people who aren’t going to like it,” said Aardewijn. “On a personal note, carrot cake wasn’t something I thought I really wanted to try. But it’s a little bit of a surprising flavor!”
You have to admit, out of all the cake flavors, carrot cake doesn't ever sound like the most tempting, or the most mouth-watering. It sounds like your vegetables in cake form. However, it's actually pretty delicious! If you haven't tried it, now might be the time to give it a try. Perhaps, as the person says in the Tweet above, it could very well be the pumpkin spice of spring. You wouldn't want to miss out on that, would you?
Check for this fun new flavor at participating Target stores soon! They won't be around for long. You can find them in 9-ounce bags through the Easter season, or according to Aardewijn, while supplies last.
