Cooking Time:
4 minutes

Ingredients
Batter:
- 1 ½ cups flour
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- ⅓ cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons Brainiac Brain Squeezers Cinnamon Applesauce
- 2 honey crisp apples, cored and diced
- Canola oil for frying
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, combine milk, eggs, and Brainiac Brain Squeezers Cinnamon Applesauce. Slowly whisk this mixture into the dry mixture until just combined, then fold in diced apples.
- Heat about 4 cups of oil (about 3-4 inches of oil) in a dutch oven over medium-high heat until oil reaches 375 degrees.
- Drop about ¼ cup of batter into the hot oil. Cook each side until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. Repeat with remaining batter ensuring to not overcrowd the oil when frying. Let fritters drain on paper towels.
- While fritters are cooling, make the glaze by whisking together all glaze ingredients in a small bowl. Dunk each fritter into the glaze, coating both sides. Place fritters on a wire rack to let any excess glaze drip off. Once the glaze has hardened, serve immediately.
