Ingredients
- 2 apples, diced into cubes
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ cup beer or apple cider
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
- In a large mixing bowl add the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and mix until combined.
- Stir in the beer or apple cider, eggs, melted butter, and diced apples.
- Mix until batter forms and set aside for 1-2 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a large pot add the frying oil to heat and add dollops of the apple batter.
- Let them fry for about 3 minutes on each side.
- Serve them warm or cold with icing sugar.
