Classic Apple Fritters


  • 2 apples, diced into cubes
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ cup beer or apple cider
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying

  1. In a large mixing bowl add the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and mix until combined.
  2. Stir in the beer or apple cider, eggs, melted butter, and diced apples.
  3. Mix until batter forms and set aside for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, in a large pot add the frying oil to heat and add dollops of the apple batter.
  5. Let them fry for about 3 minutes on each side.
  6. Serve them warm or cold with icing sugar.
