The origin of Cobb salad dates back to 1937 when Robbert Cobb, owner of former Los Angeles Brown Derby restaurant needed to feed Sid Grauman late at night. So he made a salad with the ingredients he had at the time. Movie stars soon started requesting for “Cobb’s Salad” and its popularity grew.
