Kung Pao Tofu

Kung Pao Tofu


  • 1 block firm tofu, cubed
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 medium zucchini, sliced
  • 4 to 6 dried arbol peppers
  • 2/3 cup roasted peanuts

Kung Pao Tofu is a spicy and tasty recipe to make for dinner tonight.
  1. Place cubed tofu in a bowl. Add cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Mix until tofu is coated. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, rice vinegar, honey, hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet or wok over medium heat. Add tofu and saute until they have a bit of color. Stir in red bell pepper, zucchini, dried arbor peppers, and roasted peanuts.
  4. Pour sauce into the pan and stir to combine. Cook until the sauce is thick.
  5. Remove from stove, serve Kung Pao Tofu over rice or noodles and enjoy!
