Ingredients
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon neutral vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 C buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon ceremonial matcha, sifted
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ⅛ sea salt
- 1 C all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon potato starch
- 2 Mezcla Japanese Matcha Vanilla bars, chopped
- Strawberries, for topping
- Figs, for topping
- In a large bowl, whisk together the egg, oil, sugar, buttermilk and vanilla extract.
- Sift in the matcha powder, baking soda, baking powder and sea salt.
- Add in the all-purpose flour, potato starch, and Mezcla Japanese Matcha Vanilla and fold until just combined.
- Preheat a waffle iron to medium heat.
- Ladle in about 1 C of batter into the waffle iron, close it and cook for about 4-5 minutes, until lightly golden and crisp.
- Remove the waffle and let cool on a cooling rack.
- Top with strawberries and figs and enjoy!
