Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup warm milk
- 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- ½ cup of sugar
- 10 tablespoons butter, diced
- 7-8 peaches
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch or flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup of water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl add the peaches diced into wedges, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cornstarch or flour.
- Mix until combined and arrange the mixture into a casserole pan that is coated with butter.
- In another bowl mix up the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Mix all the dry ingredients and rub in the butter with the help of your fingers so you can develop almost like a sand consistency.
- Stir in the warm milk and mix until wet dough forms.
- Spread the dough on top of the peaches and bake the peach cobbler in already heated oven at 350 F or 180 C degrees for about 25-30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, while that’s baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan add the sugar, cornstarch, water, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and butter.
- Stir constantly with the help of a wire whisk until thick and bubbly.
- Serve the warm peach cobbler with the vanilla sauce and enjoy it.
