Warm Peach Cobbler with Vanilla Sauce

Warm Peach Cobbler with Vanilla Sauce


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • 10 tablespoons butter, diced
  • 7-8 peaches
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch or flour
For the vanilla sauce:
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter

  1. In a large mixing bowl add the peaches diced into wedges, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cornstarch or flour.
  2. Mix until combined and arrange the mixture into a casserole pan that is coated with butter.
  3. In another bowl mix up the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  4. Mix all the dry ingredients and rub in the butter with the help of your fingers so you can develop almost like a sand consistency.
  5. Stir in the warm milk and mix until wet dough forms.
  6. Spread the dough on top of the peaches and bake the peach cobbler in already heated oven at 350 F or 180 C degrees for about 25-30 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, while that’s baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan add the sugar, cornstarch, water, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and butter.
  8. Stir constantly with the help of a wire whisk until thick and bubbly.
  9. Serve the warm peach cobbler with the vanilla sauce and enjoy it.
