Tinder, Bumble, Match.com, Grindr, and endless swipes.
It’s exhausting trying to find a soul mate; your thumbs get tired and that “Whole Foods” pickup line lost its charm months ago.
Sometimes it’s just easier to just throw in the towel and treat yourself to a good old burger.
Luckily, this burger joint will remind you who (and of what species) your true soul mate is. It’s a canine.
Shake Shack, the famous house of burgers and shakes, is launching a Valentine’s Day milkshake in the name of love — puppy love.
For every “Love Shack” Shake sold, the burger joint will donate $2 to Canine Companions for Independence, a non-profit organization specializing in training assistance dogs. Considering their milkshakes go for $5.99 each, it’s a small price to pay for indirectly launching a dog’s career. How’s that for unconditional love?
The Love Shack Shake is a sweet “strawberry blonde” milkshake topped with whipped cream and finished with glitter sprinkles (to remind you that some of man’s greatest woes can be solved with just a dash of silver glitter).
Mark Rosati, Shake Shack’s culinary director, said the Love Shack milkshake was inspired by pop group The B-52s’ song “Love Shack” for its glitter references and Georgia roots.
And speaking of, the empire state of the south is home to some good, wholesome soul food, which you will find in abundance on Shake Shack’s menu. Okay, not exactly soul food by standard culinary definitions, but it’s food that soothes the soul.
And your Valentine’s Day plans don’t have to follow any traditional standard. In fact, the break in tradition sounds a lot more fun — a canine for a soul mate and some hearty burgers and a milkshake.
Shake Shack’s strawberry milkshakes are available from Feb. 9 through Feb. 18 in New York City, Los Angeles and Atlanta. Customers are matching with their Love Shack Shakes as we speak, so better act quickly; they’re a limited-edition menu and if not for the delicious burgers you’ll likely order, at least get one in the name of puppy love.
